  2. “Many roads to travel down and there are many surprises to find it a small world.”.

Accidently, came across your blog while surfing the web. BTW, your blog is good and reveals you care.

Read some entries. While reading the traumatic brain injury entry and the mention of your husband, David. I had a “flashback” moment that he appears to be the David Figurski that I went to school in the 60”s at the University of Pittsburgh and were in the same fraternity. Hope he is doing better and continues to persevere. Please pass on my regards to the “Kahuna” and let him know I wish him well.

    Thank you,

    • Hi Tom,

Your name sounds familiar to me and David remembers you well. It was so nice to hear from you. The web is an amazing place bringing old friends back together.

Seven and a half years have passed since David suffered the Traumatic Brain Injury. It was life-altering, but at least there is life to alter. Against all odds, he lived. He returned to work at Columbia University in 2006 and has accomplished so much since then. His patience, persistence, and will to regain his life is inspiring. I have written his story and am in the final edit stage before I begin to shop it around to agents/publishers. Maybe someday you will be able to read all about it – more than what I posted to my blog or website.

I know David would love to know more about you. Feel free to post on this site. Thanks for contacting me. However in the world did you find my blog?

      All best, Donna

  3. Hi,

I believe your husband lived on East 27th Street in Erie and went to Holy Rosary. His Holy Rosary class is planning a reunion this summer in July, 2013. So far we have reached over half the classmates. We are hoping to get an email address to sent info. Forgive me if this is not that David Figurski.

Your Blog is very enjoyable. What a great outlet for your talent.

The committee for the reunion is Marilyn (McGrath) Bowers, Linda (Angelotti) Heinrich, Roseanne (Carullo) Brown, Janet (Jablonski) Colicchio, and myself, Jane Causgrove

Hope these names ring a bell.

There is a Facebook group 61 Holy Rosary Reunion for pictures and memories.

    • Hi Jane,

It was fun to get your message. Sorry I didn’t reply sooner. We were away.

You are right. David did live on E. 27th Street and he did go to Holy Rosary. Bells are ringing. David remembers you and many of the other women’s names. When is the reunion in July? We usually drive into Erie each summer to visit David’s father, but he recently moved to Detroit. I don’t know whether we can make it, but it would be fun to see David’s old friends. What a great idea! I looked for the Facebook page at 61 Holy Rosary Reunion, but couldn’t find it. Can you send me something more definitive? We’d love to look at it.

Thanks for visiting and commenting on my blog. So often it feels like I’m writing in a vacuum. I know I’m not because I’ve had more than 12,000 views, but it’s great when someone comments. I don’t know if you found the articles about David suffering a TBI traumatic brain injury in 2005. You can read about it here. In fact, if you type TBI into the Looking for Something dialogue box, you will come up with a few more articles about it and David. Feel free to pass my blog address on to all of yours and David’s friends. Heck, you can pass it on to anyone. I’m trying to build up the traffic on the site.

Jane, you can reach David at my address, I’ll pass anything on to him. What high school did you go to? I went to Villa – graduated in 66.
