Musings #7 NOT a New Year’s Resolution!

With the arrival of the new year, many people make resolutions. They vow to quit smoking, to actually use the membership to the gym that they bought in June, or to get organized. Yep, clean out the garage, attic, or basement. They are all well-meant and good intentions. Some folks even accomplish some of their goals the first week or two. Then life gets in the way and resolutions are forgotten.

On this first day of the new year I went for a long walk. But this is not a New Year’s resolution. My neighbor, How Sheen, and I walk at least once a week — most weeks more. We walk and talk in our neighborhood for about an hour each Monday. Other times we walk to the local stores to do our errands. Today, we walked about 2 miles round-trip to Kohl’s So, it’s not really a resolution. We’ve been doing this since the summer. It’s a life-style. Here is How Sheen relaxing after our walk — a cup of tea – a few cookies — some Zen calming music in the background. The new year is good.
